Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used medical procedures in the world. Originating in China over 2,500 years ago, it has undergone continuous refinement and development over the millennia.

Energy in the form of qi flows throughout the body entire body and reaches into every living cell. There are a number of information highways running through out the body connecting the upper and the lower, the back and the front, the superficial and the deep. These information highways are called meridians. At the superficial level of each meridian, there are a number of sensitive points just under the skin, called acupoints, where the qi can be manipulated in order to tune and balance the entire system, especially the vital organs which reside at a deep level. This balancing effect is used to treat illness, prevent disease and improve well being.

Qi manipulation is often carried out via the insertion of acupuncture needles.

  • Needles are individually packaged, pre-sterilised and single-use.
  • Insertion is painless since needles are extremely fine, with precision-shaped tips.
  • Acupuncture is free from harmful side-effects.

Other modes of stimulation include pressure, heat (moxibustion), electricity, magnetism and coherent light (laser).
